The Challenge This crossover needed to unite Pokémon TCG and Pokémon GO - two distinct brands with different audiences, tones, and visual styles. The creative had to blend both worlds seamlessly across social and 360 campaign touchpoints, all while navigating strict IP guidelines and staying true to each brand’s identity.

The Approach The campaign branding was shaped by researching Pokémon GO’s existing social content and extensive tone of voice guidelines - ensuring the work felt authentic to both brands. The visual approach merged GO’s dynamic, mobile-first energy with TCG’s card-focused, collectible appeal, creating a unified look across the full campaign.
 
 
Snapshot Cinemagraphs & UGC-Driven Stories Looping cinemagraphs that extend TCG card art into real-world settings - mirroring the Pokémon GO snapshot mode to highlight expansion cards that place Pokémon in everyday environments. Vertical versions were created for Instagram Stories, encouraging players to recreate their own using the ‘Add Yours’ sticker.
 
 
Trailer Cutdown: GO Item Card Reveal A dynamic trailer cutdown that uses hero film footage and booster pack-inspired motion graphics, ending on select cards featuring iconic Pokémon GO items reimagined for TCG - like the incubator and Pokéstop!

Balancing the voices of both TCG and GO, the campaign achieved a seamless rollout across both brand channels - ensuring consistency in messaging, look, and feel. The assets felt native to each platform and community, while still presenting a unified campaign identity.
